Being immersed in learning

Hungarian psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi advocates that teachers must move learners from apathy to flow - being immersed in learning - which balances a fine line between high-challenge, low stress. In the classroom, teachers can do this by providing students with an engineered set of tasks that are focused, self-selecting, linked to clear success criteria which includes immediate feedback.
