What is the depletion effect?

The 'depletion effect' is a phenomenon where working memory is impaired following the use of executive functions.

In a paper published by Chen et al., 2018 (alongside John Sweller, known for Cognitive Load Theory), researchers discuss the 'depletion effect' - concerned with human cognitive architecture, especially working memory.

    Having used spaced practice through a variety of apps, I can say that perhaps the most useful tip to ensuring success is consistency. Make the practice part of you weekly schedule and stick to it!

      Yes, spaced practice needs to be regular, planned and not ad-hoc.
