I’m back after a two-year podcast hiatus, with my first (new) podcast, looking carefully into the field of neuroeducation. The (rough) plan is to share what I’m reading and researching, talking with experts in the field of neuropsychology, neurodiversity, neuroaesthetics and more, to unpick their expertise and translate our discussions into practical recommendations for teachers.

⏭ Next Episode

Next time on The Memory Toolkit, I will be exploring Cognitive Load Theory—and how to stop students from feeling overwhelmed in lessons.

  1. Ross – love this podcast.

You may be interested in a project we conducted with the Institute of Physics, which resulted in this peer-reviewed paper published a couple of weeks ago: https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0321552

In summary, we specialise in simplifying learning by creating 1 hour instructional videos which sequence information to trigger Long-Term Memory. In the study we were able to deliver the same learning in 1 hour as 1/2 term of classroom based teaching of the GCSE Physics topic ‘Atomic Structure & Radiation’. And when combined with traditional teaching, our Download module was a force multiplier resulting in students doubling their attainment.

Our core business is in High Stakes Industries (energy sector, law enforcement, healthcare, construction, waste management etc). This provides a different perspective from schools, as our corporate clients face many challenges, both different and similar, and they tackle them in very different ways…

I’d be more than happy to tell you more about our work. And I am keen to engage with educators like yourself.
