This resource introduces you to the seminal research published by John Hattie, Visible Learning: The Sequel – a synthesis of over 2,100 meta-analyses relating to achievement. It’s worth noting that a meta-analysis synthesises research results into a single effect size estimate, provides a macro overview of countless studies, and understands the factors that influence student achievement. Hattie emphasises the importance of teachers being able to see learning through the eyes of their students and students seeing themselves as their own teacher.

In this resource, I’ve selected 25 ideas (from 1 book chapter) to help teachers and leaders implement excellent ideas for improving student outcomes. Please note that not all ideas improve student outcomes, so it is always worth being aware of the research and understanding the full context before making any changes to your practice.
