How would you rate your school's appraisal process?

Reflecting on twenty years in education, the appraisal processes has 'been done to me'. It could have been so much more purposeful.

Here are my thoughts on what makes a purposeful versus a pointless experience.

Pointless

1. Too aspirational: Targets that are so aspirational, they are only there to attempt to keep governors or improvement partners happy. No. You are not a miracle worker. If your current cohort is only at 32 per cent combined age-related expectation, they are not going to miraculously get to 70. Pointless.
