Description
I’ve led whole-school cover for 250 staff, with visiting teachers attending lessons every day of the academic year.
Most teachers have led a cover lesson at one point throughout their career. Sometimes they can be a total disaster, other times are a complete pleasure. Is there something the teacher who is absent from the lesson can do to make this process easier? Some schools do advocate a cover lesson plan template to help manage this.
Note, this is for planned cover.
In this resource, I offer some key ideas to help ensure the process is quick for the person setting cover, whilst also making sure the person leading the lesson has a more meaningful experience that can support the learning and classroom behaviour.
