Schools who do not have a coherent wellbeing policy will find themselves isolated from the recruitment market. Not only does this include the school having a workload policy, but the school should also actively be supporting staff mental health and professional growth.
From pensions to counselling, and from adaptive HR teams who can apply policy decisions to individual needs. It’s not easy, but all schools need to start somewhere.
