About Ross
Ross Morrison McGill is one of the UK’s leading education speakers and the most followed teacher on social media; also known globally as @TeacherToolkit. With over three decades of experience as a teacher and school leader in some of London’s most challenging schools, Ross now delivers school speaker keynote talks, INSET (teacher-training) days, and research-informed CPD for schools across the UK and internationally.
Ross is the founder and managing director of Teacher Toolkit. He has trained over 115,000 teachers in 17 countries and his website has been read by more than 20 million people worldwide. He has worked with over 600 organisations, including some of the biggest keynote stages across the country, multi academy trusts, and some of the largest independent schools in the world.
In April 2025, Ross was invited by the Cabinet Office and the Department for Education to meet the Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street, sharing his expertise on social media and education. In December 2015, he was nominated by The Sunday Times as one of the ‘500 Most Influential People in Britain’, the only classroom teacher ever to be included.
Today, Ross combines his work as a speaker and consultant with training new teachers as a part-time PGCE tutor at the University of Buckingham. He is currently writing his 13th teaching book and continues to blog weekly on this site.
