With teacher workload and mental health issues at record levels, ideas that work in the classroom to alleviate workload and support teacher wellbeing are essential. In this course, we will offer you a range of strategies and insights into ‘what teachers can do in the classroom’ and ‘why and how’ they work. We will also help you to manage your own wellbeing.

This course, designed for every teacher, is full of practical ideas which deliberately mirror the teaching process. These classroom strategies, supported by a wide range of research is led by Ross Morrison McGill with psychological insight from leading psychologist, Dr. Tim O’Brien.

Led by:

Dr Tim O’Brien is Visiting Fellow in Psychology and Human Development at UCL Institute of Education and a former teacher and senior leader in mainstream and specialist education (SEMH). 

Ross Morrison McGill is a teacher and school leader with 23 years experience. He has written 3 books on teaching and is passionate about teacher well-being and teaching and learning. In 2010, he founded @TeacherToolkit, rapidly becoming one of the most popular websites for sharing resources and ideas around the world.


What’s included in the price?

A full day’s training by two experienced school trainers; lunch and a signed copy of the book, Mark. Plan. Teach. 

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

We will confirm the venue one month before, so initially we would recommend travel by public transport as we cannot guarantee any parking. Venues may be in a school setting, Teacher Toolkit cannot take responsibility for loss of accommodation/travel costs incurred if the school venue becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances.

What can I bring into the event?

We would recommend you bring an open mind and a device that can connect you to wifi / social media, although both are not compulsory to help individuals introduce aspects of the day back into school.

What’s the refund policy?

We will refund the full ticket price if you notify us 30 days before the date of the event. We cannot issue any other refunds less than 30 days before the event as venue costs are often booked at least one month in advance.
