How can we protect ourselves and our students online?

It’s no secret that there’s a shortage of quality online safety content for teachers to share with students and parents. So, Digital Awareness UK and the Girl’s Day School Trust have created 12 excellent videos (six for students and six for parents) to help us get to grips with issues such as sexting, cyberbullying and grooming.

Research has found that more than half of teachers said they knew of pupils who had used social media for sexting [NASUWT 2016] and schools are increasingly under pressure to effectively tackle online safety. Sexting is one of many issues the Live My Digital campaign seeks to address as platforms such as Snapchat, Instagram and take centre stage in young people’s lives.

The videos are created in partnership with Girl’s Day School Trust, who educate over 20,000 students, some of whom were enlisted to participate in the videos themselves, offering valuable insights into digital living.
